WHEEL-THROWING
Wheel throwing is so hard! It looks fun when you watch other people do it.. but gahhhh it's so frustrating! For most people, including Alisa, it was the centering that was the problem. For me, centering was fine, but I just couldn't pull up those walls. I always got to the step where I had the perfect even mound, and then ended up destroying it with my fingers during the pull up process. It seemed so dry, even when I soaked it with water. ( It also might be that I have really hot hands. I heard that was bad for clay handing)
I ended up learning a lot. I actually watch wheel throwing videos on youtube because of how interesting they are, and after this unit…. I have massive respect for those people. Its amazing what they do.
MY pot theme is "intentional" because they were all "intentional". Some curves are actually enhanced intentionally.. but most are just "intentional". I actually liked how these turned out though. Some looked like roses and other looked like vases… and they were all very pretty. I kept my glaze colors similar too. A bluish green. ( Dip glazed).
I think the biggest thing I learned with this project was patience.
