I painted the face. So far I've only done two coat and the eyes, but it will look better after the 3rd coat with paint. The first coat, I just focused on the dark and the lights, where I wanted my shadows, etc. The coats 2 and 3 are more on giving it a skin color complexion and making the distinctions between the dark and the light not too obvious but not too subtle.
It's actually quite hard to find the balance. Its very very different from painting a 2D face, and I noticed that too little shading makes the face look flat while too much.. often works. ( But too much is too much. Again, it's hard) The dark brown that I used for some shading around the eyes that looked too much actually worked.
Here is Alisa with the face. I'm probably going to do the tears with the paper mache. Hopefully, it's like resin and dries 3D ( if you know what I mean). BTW, this is coat no.1 with the eyes. It's very not human-y at the moment.
The mask's kinda creepy.
