So after the whole breaking incident, I decided to start again with gray clay instead of red. THe red seemed to try too fast and had little pieces of rock that pissed me off.. so I went with the gray. THe gray generally seems wetter and smoother.. just easier to work with, especially when you have to make ruffles with clay.
I also cut down a LOT on size because there was no way I was going to finish the pot. I almost cut it to half it's original size and eyeballed everything else to be around the same size as well. ( gave up on re-making the whole paper pot again) It ended up looking way nicer and helped the cracking problem as well. My walls were supported better and the strips of clay were way easier to work with. :)
