This is my 2nd week with the wheel. I actually would say it's my first real week because last week was mostly directions and learning how to sit on the wheel, turn it on, and see the clay being destroyed in front of you. THis week, I made a lot more clay creations that actually looked somewhat like a cup. I didn't keep any of them, because a lot of them had problems like having walls that were too thin, cracks, thin bottoms, or irregular wall thickness.
Alisa, on the other hand has been doing better and she actually made one pot! She put the little dolphin that she made during activity period as a handle, so I told her that she should have animal handles as her theme.
Alisa and I also were the first ones to do poster peer critiques. We critiqued each others' works and had fun pointing out the flaws of each other's posters and pots. She called my pot colors boring and I called her black lines messy.. so I guess we are even. I didn't consider that the interactive nature of my poster would be meaningless with the glass doors, but overall I think both Alisa's and my displays looked pretty and complete.
